As Chair of Council, I would like to welcome members and visitors to the website of the BDA West of Scotland Branch. BDA WoS members have produced the site, and its aim is to keep local dentists in contact, sharing news of meetings and events organised by the BDA, and other kindred societies, and to have a direct link to the main BDA website.
The Branch hosts six educational evenings from September to April in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, 232-242 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5RG. In normal times we gather in the “crush hall” from 6.30 pm and meetings commence at 7.15 pm. All of our meetings provide quality continuing professional development and education and offer our members an opportunity to catch up and share the important issues of the day.
As a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic we are hosting virtual meetings for members and colleagues from September 2020 until further notice. They will be highly relevant to all in the profession and begin on 30 September with an Update from the GDC on their strategy and fitness to practise review in 2020.
Our meetings are free to all BDA members and we are happy to welcome guests to attend any evenings that interest them. We have a nominal charge per meeting for guests, and this fee will be donated directly to the BDA Benevolent Fund.
The BDA Benevolent Fund is an independent charity working for dentists – both past and present – to ensure that they do not go unsupported in times of need or crisis.
Please take time to familiarise yourself with our site, navigate your way around and explore other events listed from our affiliated societies: BDA, BDA Scotland, Glasgow Odontological Society and FGDP(UK) Scotland.
