West of Scotland BDA

The Branch hosts six educational evenings from September to April in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, 232-242 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5RG. We gather from 6.30 pm and meetings commence at 7.00 prompt. All of our meetings provide quality continuing professional development and education and offer our members an opportunity to catch up and share the important issues of the day.

Our meetings are free to all BDA members, and we are happy to welcome guests to attend any evenings that interest them. We have a nominal charge per meeting for guests, and this fee will be donated directly to a designated charity, normally the BDA Benevolent Fund. The BDA Benevolent Fund is an independent charity working for dentists – both past and present – to ensure that they do not go unsupported in times of need or crisis.

On 16th November, we welcome John and Isobel Gibson to share “Cameron’s Story” with the Branch and our local dental community. Any guest fees or donations for this meeting will be donated directly to the Canmore Trust. The Trust has been established by John and Isobel to “create safe spaces for lives impacted by suicide” and I encourage you to attend and support them with their inspirational work.

We are always looking for “new blood” on our Branch Council and this year I am delighted to welcome Albert Yeung and Donald MacFarlane to the fold. If you feel that you would like to make a contribution to aid the running of the West of Scotland Branch, please contact Patricia on patricia@bdawos.org.
