Our Remit
The west of Scotland branch of the British Dental Association is a voice for dental practitioners and members of the dental team in Glasgow and the south and west of Scotland. Our members are drawn from across the profession and work in general dental practice and hospital settings. Our council's role is to look after the interests of our members and help provide guidance and support for anyone in need of day-to-day advice. The BDA is a not-for-profit trade union which is run by dentists for dentists.
Proposed New Branch Rules
At the AGM attendees were due to discuss a set of new Branch Rules to replace those which have been in operation since 1982. Unfortunately the number present to do this was not quorate for the purposes of amending the rules so these will be discussed at a future meeting.
Inaugural Graham McKirdy memorial lecture
We are delighted to have the inaugural Graham McKirdy memorial lecture this year with Eddie Crouch on 13 September 2023. Graham McKirdy was very influencial figure in the political dental world. As a lasting tribute to our dear friend and colleague Branch Council has instigated the annual “Graham McKirdy Memorial Lecture”.
